Join certified instructor Sandi Palonis as you squat, lunge and plie your way to a leaner lower body while using the ballet barre for support and balance. Light weights and high repetitions will help you create those sculpted upper body muscles. And don't forget about that core!! Sandi always says that every move you do throughout the day comes from your core...and the same holds true in Barre class. Planks (Sandi's favorite move!!) and crunches will help keep those abs strong and functional. All levels welcome.
Yin Yoga is a passive form of yoga. It allows us to work the deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints, fascia and even our bones. The postures are practiced on the floor and each is held for a longer period of time than those of a Vinyasa style practice, usually 3-5 minutes. Putting our bodies into these positions, only to our edge, allows our muscles to relax around the areas we are working – allowing the connective tissues to be stressed to maintain their health while strengthening our joints and ligaments. Yin Yoga is a meditative practice that encourages the flow of energy (qi) in the meridians of the body allowing the body to relax past it’s fight or flight mode allowing us to find comfort and peace within while completely surrendering in the pose. The kettlebell is used to work your lower body while elevating your heart rate. The resistance bands are used to strengthen your upper body by utilizing push and pull movements. Circuit training is a form of body conditioning in which participants complete what is called an exercise "circuit". A circuit is comprised of exercises using weights, a cardio exercise and an abdominal exercise. That group of exercises is then repeated 2 to 3 times. Upon the completion of the circuit, one begins a new circuit containing 3 new exercises. Each class typically contains 3 circuits.
